Wroclaw, Poland – 22 April 2025 – Spyrosoft BSG, a technology partner specialising in media software solutions, has completed the development and integration of Poland’s first real-time, signal-based ad replacement system. The project was delivered for CANAL+, a major broadcaster and pay-TV provider, known for its premium offering of films, sports content, and original productions.
The solution is based on the POIS application, enabling broadcasters to dynamically manage SCTE-35 tags in live streams and control the insertion of commercials directly into the broadcast signal. This allows real-time ad substitution without relying on pre-scheduled breaks, increasing flexibility, supporting targeted advertising, and ensuring a smooth viewing experience.
POIS processes incoming streams with original metadata and outputs modified SCTE-35 markers, ready for real-time insertion. The system is fully integrated with Ateme technologies and remains compatible with other industry standards.
The project was initiated in response to the growing need for more agile and accurate ad management in live broadcasting. Spyrosoft BSG’s dedicated team led the development, system integration, and infrastructure setup, with the platform going live in December 2024 and full operational integration completed by February 2025.
For the POIS project, Spyrosoft BSG provided comprehensive support, including software development, real-time technical assistance, system monitoring, feature enhancements, and infrastructure management. The system was built using Java and a range of DevOps automation tools.
“Delivering this project with CANAL+ is an important achievement for our team,” said Bart Lozia, CEO of Spyrosoft BSG. “This solution gives broadcasters greater control over live ad management, helping them maximise revenue opportunities and deliver a smoother viewing experience. We’re proud to contribute to advancing broadcasting technology in Poland and supporting our clients’ business goals.”
Following its successful deployment at CANAL+, the POIS system is now available to other broadcasters seeking to modernise their live content management and advertising operations with real-time, signal-based ad replacement technology.
